Die Swiss Light Source des PSI liegt wie ein UFO vor Villigen AG. Elektronen kreisen praktisch mit Lichtgeschwindigkeit auf einer Kreisbahn und strahlen dabei tangential zur Krümmung Röntgenstrahlung ab.

After more than 20 years of successful operation of the Swiss Light source, the currently ongoing upgrade to SLS 2.0 marks a significant advancement in synchrotron technology, enhancing beam stability, coherence, and brightness. These improvements enable higher-resolution and faster imaging applications, benefiting fields such as materials science, biology, and medical diagnostics.

This talk will highlight the impact of these advancements on imaging applications, showcasing new possibilities for research and industrial applications.
